View Full Version : Earn your Spot light! We are looking for Real Time Server status!
All right everyone we would like to add Real Time Server Status to the site for the Retail Servers. Anyone want to take a stab? We need Max Player Count and Current Players online.
The reload time for the status can be no longer than 10 secs. All other Server Status I've seen out there are reload time of 5 mins, we want to cut that by 99%
Any takers let me know!

True, but the graphs feature is a definite must.

http://magmeld.kaifas.lt/nosound/ <---that is real time (yeah same site different link)
That site updates itself every second if you refresh it manually, the site has a feature to reload itself every 5 minutes but it doesn't mean it updates every 5 minutes only.

Pretty sure if you refresh it and the Player numbers don't change it's on a timer, it may not be 5 mins, might be 2 mins but it's no where near real time. check it against l2net oog next time you try to login :P

So I never figured out how those sites got their data, isn't the only time the current/max data sent to the client on initial login (so that the client can fill in the light/normal/heavy status at the server selection screen), right?
So they only way to get this data is to have a scripted method for constantly connecting and seeing that screen over and over. With free accounts, and a couple of proxies this might not be that hard to do, depends on if they watch for stuff like that or not coming from IP's lol.

But how would they get the last login time (for kaifas.lt ?)
I'm sure there are tons of information to get, I used for a time a russian tool (named L2Tools) which was looking for Gamemasters online on the server. And It worked, when I tried to pm the name printed in this tool it gives me the message "That person is in refusal mode" or something like that.
And ... it worked when servers where GMonly right after maintenance (when they test that everything is ok) so they didn't get that GM list from being ingame.
I'm curious about how they made such a service too :/

That's the only thing I could think of. Sending a login packet and receive the result? Perhaps 5 minutes is the delay on a login so he can keep using the same account instead of having to forcelog or logout. Of course the alternative would be as you said, to have a couple proxies.

I have been looking for L2TOOLS for a long time, is it possible for you to upload it somewhere?

Ive tried it, it didnt seem to have any malware, though i didnt check with those antivir scanning sites. So Try it at ur own risk.
Now this prog is not bad, Drastik if u could somehow get contacts of creator it would be cool. We really need source code.

Well, why not just take l2net's login method and use it as a seperate program or built it to an online tool? Since all it takes is just logging into the login server and getting info about servers online count, repeat that every x seconds/minutes.

I had it but deleted it. Why ? Because it was only grabbing informations from a server different that the official server, and without this server it was useless :D

Because L2Tools ver 1.3.3.7 is used to detect GM's on the official server. I have no fucking idea how its done, because I would assume you need their SQL database password, but I know its possible.

AFAIK if the gm is online, it will get you one system message, if the gm is offline - another. Thats the only way i know to check for gm's online.

My point was : L2Tools.exe itself just gather the information (GM online, GM Offline) from an other server, this another server live checking if the GM were ingame.
I assumed this point, and therefore I think it's useless if the L2Tools server is not online.
@Knoxvile : Pm works too, but you need the full GMname database ;)
EDIT : Found L2tools, will not give link publicly pm me

well the thing is that most likely the only way to get that info is loggin in. so you would need to be hammering the login server every second. if you do such a thing .your prollly going to get ip banned really fast.
